Master Bath Remodel — Glenville
An older couple was looking to remodel the master bath in their hill town home. They found a photo in aBertch vanity brochure which gave them the inspiration for the scheme of the room. A 60” vanity with Cambria quartz top and double white lavs mimicked the contrast of the other white cabinet and Parys blue top and walls. The floor is a wood grained ‘beach’ tile which brings the various blues in the room into synch with the greys in the floor and the whites in the Centennial cabinetry and Kohler fixtures. The shower, with it’s rain head, standard shower head, and hand-held give the user a variety of showering opportunities. The toilet features a Kohler bidet functionality seat for personal cleanliness. The Bascoclear glass shower enclosure admits lots a light from the large bay window behind the chair, which offers the option of toe drying or simple conversation with the other occupant.
Bath Remodel — ADA Compliant & Wheelchair Accessible — Niskayuna
This couple was in need of a complete remodel of a downstairs bath that would meet ADA standards to accommodate a wheelchair. The semi-custom shower unit made by Onyx Collection was chosen because the clients requested an elegant looking roll-in unit that appeared less institutional. They didn’t want the typical tile with grout that needed to be scrubbed on a regular basis.
Kitchen Remodel — Mechanicville
I was approached to design a kitchen in a large open space which would be both attractive and functional while being seen from the living room and dining area (great room). We had 9′ ceilings so we could incorporate the ‘skyline’ effect at the top of the wall and tall cabinets. We faced having an entry door and adjacent pantry door, and used the space between to create a ‘refrigerator credenza’. The island, with it’s raised eating bar to accommodate six comfortably, added a dynamic focal point. The two tones, a Jasmine paint for the perimeter and Pheasant Cherry for the island provided a warm contrast of color.
This master bathroom in a beautiful country home needed to be saved from the blue, the floral and especially the hummingbirds! I routed the hummingbirds and replaced them with marble, quartz, porcelain tile and neutral colors. Now this busy business couple feels like they are in a hotel everyday!
